A FEW WAYS YOU CAN HELP US…
Student Volunteer Assistants
Assistant Student Coaches support our members at the classes enabling them to get the most out of the session they are participating in. Student Volunteer Assistants might provide one to one support or provide a more general role in the session. The club provides a mandatory bespoke ‘Horizon Volunteer training’ Course. The course is a 3 hour session led by former Metropolitan Police Sergeant, Jon Clarke. The course covers four topics: safeguarding; communicating with young people with a disability; health and safety; and defusing aggression. Attendees will learn how to assess risk, respond safely to an emergency and provide practical support to the coach in the event of an accident, injury or illness. All participants will recieve a certificate of attendance. Student Volunteer Assistants will also receive on-going in-house training from our Head Coach Tutor and section Coaches.
You don’t have to have any previous experience to volunteer for us, you just need a love of sport, be able to share that enthusiasm with others and make sure that our members are having as much fun as possible! Our members and Coaches really value the support that’s given and it helps create the amazing club we have.
Our volunteering programme is for a minimum of 2 years and we take students from local schools age 14-18. If you would like to volunteer with us please email us at email@example.com
If you have a passion for one of our sports and would like share that with children and young people, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be in touch.
We’re also always keen to hear from people who may be able to support the club behind the scenes. If you are interested in becoming a Trustee, supporting our fundraising effort or if you feel your expertise could be used in any other role, then please contact email@example.com we look forward to hearing from you!
