Funding

The Club relies on three main sources of funding: membership fees, grants and fundraising

Each year we need to raise around £40,000 to run the Club. Whilst our members do pay a membership fee we aim to keep this as low as possible hence why fundraising is so important. For many of our children our classes are the only sporting opportunities they are able to participate in due to their particular needs. 

We have always been generously supported, not only by parents, friends and family members, as well as our own volunteers, but also by so many community groups and organisations – schools, other sports clubs, universities, colleges and businesses. This has enabled us to continue to offer our unique specialised club. We face strong competition from other local and national charities all doing great work as we apply for larger sums to ensure the long term viability of the Club. This means that we need to continuously fundraise by organising events as well as applying to various charitable organisations. 

There are plenty of ways you can support us – by making a donation, joining our supporters club, sponsoring us or by supporting us through special offers.

 Organise your own fundraising event

Company support

We are always keen to discuss corporate fundraising – both big and small. This is a great opportunity to promote the Club to a much wider audience. Most recently the Club was fortunate enough to be one of only 96 finalists for the Persimmon Homes Building Futures fund. Although we did not win one of the big prizes we did receive a much-appreciated consolation prize of £5,000. Supporters Club

Join our supporters club to be in with a chance of winning a monthly cash prize for only £4 a month!

That’s only 13p per day to help raise essential funds for our specialist coaches and equipment.

Make a donation or fund raise for us using Virgin Money Giving

 

Amazon smile are donating money to charities based on spending. If you use amazon your spend can mean money for Horizon Sports Club. You will need to log on to smile.amazon.co.uk . When logged on you will need to add Horizon Sports Club as the charity, it will then find our registration and you can just go ahead and order.

Make a donation! Send a cheque to the address on our Get in touch page, payable to Horizon Sports Club. Please let us know who you are so we can thank you. Every donation matters no matter how big or small.
